WHEN ANGELS OR LOVED ONES SEND MESSAGES, THEY MAY BE REFLECTIONS OR VISITATION DREAMS
There are many aspects to the
invisible word, and we all know about angels. There are guardians, there are
the powerful commanders such as Michael, and there are ones that help us
when we invoke assistance on special occasions (see Christ in the
desert). There is the "angel of breakthrough" who can help with difficult
circumstances, or simply bring us to victory. When you are stymied, invoke
often "the angel of breakthrough."
Do they sometimes show themselves, in manifestations?
Many of you know the answer to that yourselves, personally. Here we have some photographs taken by Jackie Greer of Williamstown, New Jersey, during a trip to the famous apparition site of Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina that is now under active Vatican investigation.
"Last November I went there with a group and I took this photo," she says. "I had my photos developed a couple of weeks ago because we were having a get together, and this is what came out [left, above and below]. I had it blown up twice. I have no explanation. If you look at it carefully you may see a chalice, a person, an angel, Mary, or Jesus. I just don't know. It's just amazing to me -- as the street was empty."
Almost immediately, those who
have knowledge or expertise in photography may point out "natural"
explanations, and there often are, especially with new digital
photography (where reflections are enhanced and dust or droplets can seem
like orbs; note luminous blue also on the
house, along with other glares).
But does God not accent our surrounding -- and at poignant spiritual moments, as little indicators?
One can take it as a supernatural manifestation of refracting light. The time may be approaching to put away hyper-skepticism.
We have this from the great Church father Tertullian (160-220 AD), who when it comes to gifts of the Holy Spirit said:
"What nobler than to tread underfoot the gods of the nations -- to exorcise evil spirits -- to perform cures -- to seek Divine revealings -- to live to God? These are the pleasures, these the spectacles that befit Christian men -- holy, everlasting, free."
Then there are manifestations in dreams. Some call them "visitation dreams." Here we take a lengthy account of one such from Mary Hornsby of Crowley, Louisiana (print article here, if you like), who tells us:
"I lost my husband October 30, 2009. My daughter, Brooke Kurtz, had a dream, or visitation, about two months after. It has been a tremendous comfort for me and we have shared it with many. This is her account of the dream:
"However
inadequate or unworthy the end result may be, this is my heartfelt attempt
to translate this dream to paper, that it might be read and remembered by
others. Before now it has been a personal solace -- very private, very
kept -- churned over in the night and in quiet. I received many
"impressions" during this dream which, while not conveyed through speech,
I believe were still direct communiqués from Dad. Anything he
actually said to me will be in quotation.
"My first moment of consciousness was of my
closing the door. I was already in the house, and my hand was still on the
knob when I turned and saw Dad standing not ten feet in front of
me. Immediately I knew I was dreaming; I’ve had dreams like this
before, and I had been waiting to have one with Dad.
"'You’re here!'" I shouted. 'It’s so good to see you -- we all miss you so much!'
"By this point I had my arms wrapped fully around his ribcage in an eight-year-old's hug. All I could do was breathe and think, "Don’t go yet.. don’t go yet... just hug him.. just hug him.. just stay and let me hug you..."
"I could physically feel the healing, and the joy that was radiating out from him -- literally like a thirst in me being satisfied -- and I closed my eyes and just thought to soak it up for a while, not knowing how long the dream would last. He didn’t say anything, just held me. He seemed to be content and satisfied also, so I stayed there for what had to have been about ten of the most emotionally memorable minutes of my life.
"When I looked at Dad he was actually a little taller, and slimmer in some places yet more filled out in others, than he had been when he was alive. But I knew that this is what his glorified body would look like -- the way his soul looked, because it’s how his body was made to look.
"He looked younger, but not 'younger like when he was in his twenties.' He looked the way he would have matured in a perfect world, with no stress, no cigarettes, no football injuries, no acne, no sun damage, no scars… totally recognizable, but totally, perfectly Dad.
"That's also when I realized a little of what he was doing -- I wouldn’t call it telepathy per se, but it’s like he would plant a seed in my mind (or maybe it was his angel, or maybe God Himself, I don’t really know, maybe when he couldn't explain something he would pray for help) and it would bloom into understanding."
