The Better Business Bureau (BBB) on Thursday issued a warning about a new tap-to-pay fraud scheme.
“Ghost tapping is especially dangerous when the target’s debit card is involved,” said Steve Bernas, BBB president and CEO. “The crooks can quickly drain a person’s bank account or make credit card charges.” Unlike previous schemes that required physical contact with a bank card, the BBB says thieves utilizing ghost tapping defeat that need.
