From the Washington Post:
Drone sightings at Munich International Airport shut flight operations late Thursday night into Friday morning, in the latest in a series of drone scares in Europe that have prompted officials to urgently pursue new air defenses.
The airport reported that German air traffic control restricted flights starting at 10:18 p.m. Thursday, then suspended them outright, due to “several drone sightings.” Seventeen flights from Munich were unable to depart, the airport said, affecting nearly 3,000 passengers. An additional 15 incoming flights were diverted to other cities. The European Union has proposed building a “drone wall” to defend its eastern borders after recent reports of drones crossing into the airspace of Poland, Romania and Denmark, which have left Europe on edge.
