One medium apple has about 95 calories, 25 grams of carbohydrates, 4 grams of fiber, and 8 milligrams of vitamin C. But most of the benefits come from the polyphenols in apples, which WebMD says help manage blood pressure levels and keep your blood vessels healthy and flexible, promoting good circulation. Apples also help reduce chronic inflammation, another risk factor for heart disease.
