Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. is reportedly adapting an August 2024 Rolling Stone article about Sammy Davis Jr. into a horror movie. With Odom set to star in the film as well, it plans to explore the late singer and actor’s alleged connection to Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan.
The Tony and Grammy-winning star has reportedly acquired the screen rights to Alex Bhattacharji’s shocking article that explored the claimed connection Sammy Davis Jr. had with the Church of Satan. The story of the horror film will reportedly follow the circumstances that drew Davis into the mix. Based on the Rolling Stone article, “Dance With the Devil,” one of the primary themes of the movie will also be exploring Davis’ friendship with the controversial Anton Szandor LaVey.
