A gilded icon of the Virgin and Child has been stolen from a Cambridge University college chapel

An icon of the Virgin Mary has been stolen from the chapel of a Cambridge University college. The gilded icon of the Virgin and Child was taken from the chapel of Magdalene College between September 24 and 25.

The icon shows the Virgin and Child with two archangels. It is painted on a wooden board with a gold-leaf background and a red border, measuring approximately 35x25cm and 2.5cm thick.
