From Church Pop:
On Dec. 25, 2013, the Saint Hyacinth’s Shrine in Legnica, Poland celebrated Christmas Mass.
During communion, a host fell on the floor. Following the Church’s instructions to respect the sacred host, the priest placed the Eucharist in holy water to dissolve. After two weeks, the host did not completely dissolve and a red substance appeared on it. Then-Bishop Stefan Cichy then established a commission to study the “phenomenon.” “The histopathological image revealed tissue fragments containing fragmented parts of striated muscle. The whole image is most similar to the heart muscle…that shows changes typical of an agony. Based on genetic tests, it was confirmed that the tissue is of human origin.”
