We have to admit a certain curiosity, and a tinge of uneasiness, with the barrage of tech multi-billionaires suddenly on the global stage.
One of them, Elon Musk, has enormous influence not just in the West, but also Russia and China.
Our “new world.”
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, is the greatest global retailer in history.
Mark Zuckerberg owns Facebook. No comment necessary.
And so forth.
They are rather unique, one might say peculiar, sorts.
At the inauguration of Donald Trump, this was caught on video:

Was he simply exercising his neck to prevent stiffness? Bored? The result of too many video games?
Social media lit up with theories on everything from aliens to scanning the room like a robot.
Many crazy things are said. This was, however, somewhat (let us say) unusual. (A former nanny says that as a child, Musk tried to summon imaginary friends from a replica of Stonehenge. Musk himself has spoken of his “demon mode”).
And Mr. Bezos?
His look (his eyes), and those of Mark Zuckerberg, have sometimes given pause. Is it simply that techs are a bit unnatural due to the nature of their work (what some have perhaps uncharitably called “nerdiness”)? Or a sign of genius?
Here is Bezos at the inauguration, likewise (in all likelihod) trying to unwind a bit:
And Mark?
Pretty, ah, intense.
Also, understandable?
We are perhaps called not to worldliness, but to a higher station, in these strange times, in need of prayer.
