From the Washington Post:
The other day, Stu Ross, a retired elementary school teacher, threw his neighbor out of his townhouse in Harrisburg, Pa. The guy had said he saw nothing wrong with the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Ross wasn’t having it. Ross, 59 – alternately a Republican and a Democrat through the years but never particularly political – voted for Biden in November. He called the new president’s first speech “soothing and calm.” But unity? Normalcy? A return to how things used to be, to Biden’s idea that “politics doesn’t have to be a raging fire?” Come on. Where Ross lives, the only way he and the others in his breakfast crew at Roxy’s Cafe can get through a conversation is to steer clear of politics.
