President Donald Trump has declined to provide Ukraine the Tomahawk missiles his counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky had sought, with sources telling Axios that the meeting between the two leaders turned very tense.
Trump indicated his desire to see an immediate end to the Russia-Ukraine war, writing in a Truth Social post after the meeting that he “strongly suggested to [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin, that it is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL! Enough blood has been shed, with property lines being defined by War and Guts.” Trump wrote that both Ukraine and Russia should “stop where they are,” both “claim Victory,” and “let History decide!” which would indicate support for Russia keeping what territory it gained during its invasion.
