From the Catholic Herald:
Amid the devastation caused by a powerful explosion in Trujillo, northern Peru, one family has spoken of their faith being renewed after a sacred image of the Virgin of the Gate was found unscathed.
The blast, which took place late on 14 August in the La Libertad region, injured ten people and damaged around 90 homes, according to Peru’s Housing Minister, Durich Whittembury. Authorities said the target was a building on Avenida Perú whose owner had been threatened by the criminal gang “Los Pepes,” who demanded one million soles (approximately £215,000) to spare him and his family.
