From Forums of the Virgin Mary [translation]:
How these thoughts are generated, why they appear and how to proceed so that they do not torment you.
It is a common fact that good people who are on the path of salvation have dark thoughts come to their minds.
They don’t explain how they came to his mind.
And they are usually ashamed, because they accuse themselves of not being faithful to God’s commandments.
But they do not take into account that surely those thoughts are not theirs, but are dictated by demons, at certain moments when their defenses are lowered.
However, just because those thoughts aren’t yours doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fight them.
Here we will talk about how demons come to put those thoughts in people’s minds, what the levels of severity are, and in what ways they can be combated, either by preventing them so that they arrive less and less, or by confronting them. when they arrive, with formulas recommended by exorcists.
Dark thoughts come to mind with some frequency for most people.
Some thoughts may be the impulse to blaspheme God, shout obscenities, get angry, harm another person or themselves, and the like.
These things arise spontaneously and are beyond our conscious control.
And we are very ashamed to reveal those bad thoughts.
Because of course, good, mentally balanced people don’t do or think such bad things.
But the little voice is sometimes there, even among the most virtuous people.
And we thought, if people really knew me they would hate me. Or what am I doing wrong for this to happen to me?
It also makes us wonder if God could really love and forgive us, when he finds out about those thoughts.
But don’t worry, if you suffer these mental torments, it does not mean that you are not on the path of salvation or that you are sinning.
We all carry the Cross and part of this may be unwanted unpleasant thoughts that God allows the evil one to do to us.
But we should not normalize them and fight against them, quite the opposite.
How do these thoughts originate?
They come from the evil heart of demons who are constantly tempting us.
And the evil one wants us to think that those bad thoughts are ours, but they are not, they are his.
They are the constant thoughts in the minds of demons and the damned.
In hell, the minds of the damned have these thoughts.
And when the evil ones advance on the path of evil on Earth, more of these demonic thoughts become their thoughts.
There are typical moments when it seems that these thoughts take control of some people, who are being greatly attacked by demons.
They often appear more in the transition state between wakefulness and sleep.
In these moments of carelessness, demons will inject thoughts and images that do not come from the person being attacked or from their usual subconscious.
It’s like they’ve hijacked your mind for a few seconds and are using it to hurt and torment you.
This happens on a larger scale and more permanently with those possessed by the demon.
They are thinking about something and suddenly their mind is hijacked and violent and terrifying thoughts appear.
Because demons love to torment and abuse, both physically and mentally.
But when the person begins to realize what is really happening, they learn to separate their thoughts from theirs, it is like untangling a web.
These frightening thoughts are also an indicator to the individual that demons possess him, or at least are having the ability to strongly influence him.
And furthermore, both he and the people around him may see changes in his personality, behavior, and attitude that are not consistent with his usual self.
They may become aggressive, violent, and exhibit other abnormal behaviors.
The person may also feel a sense of loss of control over their actions or body movements.
You may experience involuntary movements, speak in different voices, or become aware of events or languages you are not familiar with.
You may experience nightmares, insomnia, or physical ailments without any medical explanation.
And all this will be causing alterations in relationships, work and general functioning.
These dark and tormenting thoughts are an especially difficult test for those possessed.
Because when demons take possession, there is a fusion of the demonic thoughts and actions with those of the person.
The despair, rage, and violence of the dark world often torment the minds of the possessed.
And the possessed find it almost impossible to distinguish between their human thoughts and those of demons, in the early stages of liberation.
They become convinced that these bad thoughts are really theirs.
But one sign that the bereaved are freeing themselves is their ability to disown these thoughts.
They are increasingly able to say, “These terrible thoughts are from Satan; They are not mine, I reject them, I rebuke them, and I expel them.
Naturally there is a whole gradation from simple demonic temptation to full demonic possession.
And there are two strategies to handle this, before possession is reached, which will require an exorcism.
One is long-term, deep and basic.
It is the combination of fasting with reading the Bible as the central axis, plus prayer, the Eucharist, confession and adoration as a deepening.
Fasting and reading the Bible are of immense importance in seeking spiritual connection with God, gaining strength, and achieving liberation from the influence of malevolent forces.
Fasting is a path to purity and spiritual discipline.
Beyond its physical benefits, it allows people to discipline their bodies and focus their minds on their spiritual goals.
By denying physical appetite, fasting cultivates a greater sense of self-control and a deeper trust in the Divine.
And reading the Bible illuminates the path to liberation.
Because it contains wisdom, guidance, and stories of spiritual struggles and victories.
Reading the Bible with sincerity and an open heart allows people to better understand the nature of evil, its manifestations, and the ways to overcome it.
It imparts spiritual strength and understanding, inspiring people to seek the presence of God and trust in His power, to conquer the forces of darkness.
And the synergy between fasting and Bible reading amplifies the effects of each practice.
When fasting, the mind becomes clearer and the body becomes more sensitive to spiritual stimuli.
And this elevated state allows for deeper engagement with Scripture, allowing people to grasp its messages on a deeper level.
And the other strategy to combat the darkness that is coming to you and free yourself is practical, and we can conceive it as a complement to fasting plus reading the Bible.
It is a methodology that exorcists recommend for those who need liberation.
Step 1: Get rid of bad thoughts, recognize that they come from satan.
Step 2: Reject them and simply ignore them.
Step 3: Use short invocations when they come to you, such as “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me, a sinner” or “Jesus, I trust in you” or simply repeat “Jesus, Mary.”
Step 4: Meditate daily reading the Bible, invoking the presence of Jesus.
Step 5: Practice stewardship of your mind by limiting your exposure to worldly influences, including excessive use of the Internet and television, and instead read and watch holy things.
Step 6: Offer the sufferings this causes you to Jesus, to unite them with His sufferings.
Step 7: Stay in peace, trust in Jesus, God loves you and forgives you.
Well, that’s it, we wanted to talk about how to consider the dark thoughts that come to your mind and how to combat them.
And I would like to ask you if it has happened to you or not, and how you fight.
