\"\"When it comes to North Korea, there are interesting prophetic aspects — potentially.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps most noteworthy: how, way back in the early 1990s, mystic Maria Esperanza de Bianchini of Venezuela warned (in\u00a0The Bridge To Heaven<\/a><\/span>) <\/em>that “the yellow races will stand up, and that’s very serious and I’m very afraid, because they would like to rise up. We are living difficult times right now, and I expect an ‘earthquake’ in Venezuela. It will begin here. There will be a revolution in general that will make people rise up against injustice. A very hard moment will come… Russia may act in a surprise way.”<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

One wonders, with how quickly North Korea’s military technology has developed, whether Russia or China (or both) are at least tacitly behind it and if, indeed, either or both will act in a way that catches us off balance. (Meanwhile, the prediction thrown in there about Venezuela is amazing.)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"KimOf further interest:<\/span> how, in Japan, one of the nations most immediately threatened by Kim Jong-un, a seer named Sister Sasagawa conveyed a message on the anniversary of the great Fatima sun miracle back in 1973 that\u00a0“if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead.” North Korea has been launching test missiles over that populous nation.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In\u00a0South<\/em> Korea is an alleged stigmatic seer named Julia Kim who has spewed prophecy but is extremely controversial — so much so, in fact, that her archbishop stripped one priest of his faculties when, despite orders, he kept promoting her. It has basically been condemned [see\u00a0here<\/a><\/span>\u00a0or here<\/a><\/span>\u00a0or here<\/a><\/span>], s<\/em>o explore it further we will not.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Another controversial mystic<\/span>\u00a0(disallowed from speaking on Catholic property, but not<\/em> condemned) is from the United States. While errant with a post-election prophecy (he predicted in effect that Donald Trump would not be allowed to assume office), years ago he loudly warned about North Korea, p<\/span><\/strong><\/span>redicting a coming “great storm.”\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“From the beginning I had insisted that there would be a rise in wide-scale stark terror as a primary method in this storm,” he wrote. “I had written in 2001 that we would see a significant warming in our relations with Russia for a while, followed by them dramatically hitting the rocks again. But I told the priests [who serve as his spiritual directors] to keep their eye on Russia, because in the end she will be our most steadfast and reliable ally. As I have also said since the start, the storm ‘\u2026will break through North Korea, but will not be centered in North Korea.’ That is specific language that has been used with me and you can speculate endlessly about what it means.”<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He added:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“In the early years, Jihad will seem the great battle. Certainly, it is the most showy and determined. But it will collapse more quickly and easily than people can imagine \u2013 once we understand that it is a battle that we can\u2019t negotiate our way out of. But Jihad is not the most dangerous of the bad actors \u2013 it is China. It will take some years for us to see that China is the real center and the real implacable enemy of western civilization. China may already be the most militarily strong nation in the world. It will be the challenge posed by China, once she is fully unmasked, that drives Russia into the west and common cause with America.” (He believed an event will occur that could cost about 25 million lives. He warns about electromagnetic weaponry. Strong stuff! How do we deal with prophecy that possesses such specificity?)<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"ImageWe’ll\u00a0 not get into the push and pull of controversies in this case, but to note how, just last week, a news outlet that calls itself the Washington\u00a0Examiner<\/em>, in a bit of a scare article, discussed how the biggest threat posed by North Korea is not a direct nuclear strike but one high above ground that would “fry” our systems of electronic communication — causing what they call an “electromagnetic pulse (EMP).”\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Said the\u00a0Examiner<\/em> <\/a><\/span>\u00a0(on October 12, admittedly with tabloid shrill): <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“Congress was warned Thursday that North Korea is capable of attacking the U.S. today with a nuclear EMP bomb that could indefinitely shut down the electric power grid and kill 90 percent of ‘all Americans’ within a year.\u00a0At a\u00a0House hearing,<\/a>\u00a0experts said that North Korea could easily employ the “doomsday scenario” to turn parts of the U.S. to ashes.\u00a0In calling on the Pentagon and President Trump to move quickly to protect the grid, the experts testified that an explosion of a high-altitude nuclear bomb delivered by a missile or satellite ‘could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans.'”<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Hype? Prescience? One takes such with an open mind and also a grain of salt. (No major news outlets presented any congressional hearing last week like that.)\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Yet: it takes no seer to know we live in a world and at a time when anything could happen.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
