{"id":20303,"date":"2018-11-20T23:42:41","date_gmt":"2018-11-20T23:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/?p=20303"},"modified":"2018-11-20T23:46:20","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T23:46:20","slug":"mailbag-when-the-wrong-door-was-the-right-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/mailbag-when-the-wrong-door-was-the-right-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Mailbag: When The Wrong Door Was The Right One"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20292\" src=\"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/logoinside.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"45\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Segoe UI;\">I&#8217;m 73 now and looking back I see serendipity happening all the time.\u00a0 Sometimes the smallest action or decision led to a different road and a different life.\u00a0 I&#8217;m most grateful for the sickness that brought me back to Catholicity in 1977.\u00a0 I have come to believe that God always has His purpose.\u00a0 My job is to trust and obey.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s one of my favorite stories.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">+<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Segoe UI;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thegbcmc.org\/uploads\/1\/0\/8\/6\/10867233\/published\/1395679672.jpg?1521503263\" alt=\"Picture\" \/>George Crane from Pittsfield, MA.\u00a0 George was an alcoholic and had lost his law practice and his family because of his addiction.\u00a0 One day he woke up an alcoholic and went to bed in love with God.\u00a0 He had\u00a0attended a legal conference and, at the end of the day, went to the bar and got sloshed.\u00a0 On his way to his motel room, he opened the wrong door, the basement door, and proceeded to tumble\u00a0down a flight of stairs\u00a0landing in a heap.\u00a0 He told us the first words out of his mouth were, &#8220;Oh, My God!\u00a0 Help me!&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">+<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Segoe UI;\">And he immediately\u00a0<strong>felt<\/strong>\u00a0His presence.\u00a0 He was there for him.\u00a0 Completely changed George&#8217;s life.\u00a0 He was able to give up drinking, got his legal license back and his family.\u00a0 More than that.
