{"id":50214,"date":"2021-10-25T07:32:59","date_gmt":"2021-10-25T11:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/?p=50214"},"modified":"2021-12-29T11:03:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-29T16:03:43","slug":"pope-listen-to-melody-of-god-in-your-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/pope-listen-to-melody-of-god-in-your-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope: Listen To Melody Of God In Your Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>From the Vatican:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A group of some five hundred young Lutheran pilgrims from Germany greeted Pope Francis with song as he welcomed them to the Vatican on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018Singing unites\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The Holy Father took up the musical theme in his remarks to the pilgrims, saying, \u201cSinging unites,\u201d and explaining that \u201cIn the choir, no one is alone: it is important to listen to others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis said he desired \u201cthis willingness to listen for the Church,\u201d which is \u201clearning it anew in the synodal process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He encouraged the pilgrims to also listen for \u201cthe melody of God\u201d in their own lives, calling on them to open not only their ears, but also their hearts. \u201cWhoever sings with an open heart,\u201d he said, \u201calready touches the mystery of God, perhaps without even realizing it.\u201d This mystery, he said, \u201cis love, the love that in Jesus Christ finds its splendid, full, and unique sound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And this, he said, \u201cis also how ecumenism takes place,\u201d not only in Germany, but throughout the world.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018With Luther to the Pope\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The 2021 Ecumenical Pilgrimage has as its motto \u201cWith Luther to Rome,\u201d and is intended to help pilgrims get to know Rome and their faith from a new perspective. It is focused on the elements that unite Christians, the obstacles that have already been overcome in the journey to unity, and the challenges that must still be faced.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second time the group has come to Rome, with the group meeting previously with Pope Francis in 2016.
