Many think Sister Lucia dos Santos of F\u00e1tima fame was a saint. In that, we concur.\u00a0But she wasn’t a born one, and it wasn’t automatic due to the apparitions of an angel in 1916, the Blessed Mother to her in 1917, and appearances of Mary and Jesus in years after.<\/p>\n

No question: she received extraordinary counsel — and predictions — from Heaven. We are releasing a book linking one of her revelations (in 1944) with current predictions and events (Future Events<\/a><\/span>).<\/em><\/p>\n

But again: that didn’t mean she lived a pitch-pure life in the convent. We all have to work every moment for Heaven, often in “minor” imperfections we rarely consider.<\/p>\n

And so it was, as the Blue Army<\/a><\/span> reminds us, and as the well-known chronicler of Fatima, Father Robert Fox, first revealed (in a book entitled\u00a0 The Intimate Life of Sister Lucia<\/em>), that the all-but-certain future saint\u00a0 named Lucia once listed the imperfections she needed to take to the confessional.<\/p>\n

The list:<\/p>\n

\u2013 Resentments which do not allow me to forget the defects of others.
\n\u2013 Faults against charity which these resentments lead me to.
\n\u2013 Egoism which leads me so many times to choose the best for myself.
\n\u2013 Self-love which leads me to have my view prevail.
\n\u2013 Excessive propensity to be grieved with trifles.
\n\u2013 To remain quiet many times in order not to have my opinion rejected with people who I know beforehand have to win the argument, even without good reason.
\n\u2013 Lack of respect and disdain for those who contradict me.
\n\u2013 Sadness and weariness produced by wounded self-love.
\n\u2013 Consenting to complaints of self-love.
\n\u2013 Concentrating on the faults of others without seeing my own.
\n\u2013 Curt replies to the Sisters.
\n\u2013 Not valuing the work of others.
\n\u2013 In my eyes I think my work better than others.
\n\u2013 To want others to esteem my work.
\n\u2013 Resistance to Grace.
\n\u2013 Distractions which diminish insights of faith and touches of grace.
\n\u2013 Curiosities.
\n\u2013 Useless words in moments of silence.
\n\u2013 Uncharitable thoughts and words.
\n\u2013 Omissions of charity.
\n\u2013 Carelessness in the practice of small sacrifices.
\n\u2013 Lack of patience in unforeseen events.
\n\u2013 Lack of an ability with others.
\n\u2013 Lack of respect for the opinion of others.
\n\u2013 Not valuing the others’ opinions.
\n\u2013 The difficulty in allowing others\u2019 opinions to prevail.
\n\u2013 Allowing myself on many occasions to be very happy or very sad.
\n\u2013 Not being punctual enough.
\n\u2013 Not taking correction willingly.
\n\u2013 Unwillingly to assume my own feelings.
\n\u2013 Being rude to those who displease me.
\n\u2013 Failing of devotion in my spiritual duties and visits to the Blessed Sacrament.
\n\u2013 Failing to be diligent in obedience.
\n\u2013 Failing to be pleasant with others.
\n\u2013 Failing to use ejaculatory prayers during the day to maintain my union with God.
\n\u2013 Failing to visit the Blessed Sacrament in my free time.<\/p>\n

Fascinating! And a great preparation for the Christmas season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As for Thanksgiving: how many of us thank God through the day, each hour; how many thank Him enough?<\/p>\n
