Ninety-thousand without electricity. Folks caught at dark red lights and in elevators.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/media.npr.org\/assets\/img\/2013\/08\/12\/2003-blackout-005-152ded1d1d4495b725f97d5dfb649359e75111f7-s800-c15.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for blackout subways new york\" \/>That made national news, but, oddly, a power outage that affected subways in New York City &#8212; also no minor city &#8212; did not.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The first outage<\/span> occurred at around 7:20 a.m. in New York, reported Inverse, when the power went down at the Seventh Avenue and 53rd Street subway station. That sent a shock wave of significant delays out from the hub and into the rest of the subway system. By 11:30 a.m. the city\u2019s Metropolitan Transit Authority confirmed that generators were running again in the station. But five hours had elapsed without one major subway line, the &#8220;B&#8221; train, functioning.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">A bit later, electrical glitches<\/span> disrupted the airport in Los Angeles (power outages were reported in Los Angeles International Airport, as well as in several other areas around the city), and there was a shortcoming of electricity in Detroit, along with San Francisco.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Coincidence? Or d<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>id one glitch trigger another farther down the line (the nation has three major interconnected grids)?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Maybe, in these cases: coincidence. In San Francisco, it was traced to a burnt circuit breaker.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">But through the years<\/span> we have been made to wonder how many &#8220;quiet&#8221; events have been terrorism that the government, for various reasons, has not wanted to acknowledge as precisely that.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>With President George Bush, it was trying to avoid a panic in the wake of 9\/11 (remember all the anthrax?) and not wanting to hurt the airline industry. With President Barack Obama, it was his unspoken rule not to use the term &#8220;Islamic radical&#8221; &#8212; even though a more fitting term there seldom has been. As for recent cases of Islamic violence, President Trump correctly remarked that \u201cyou\u2019ve seen what happened in Paris, and Nice. All over Europe, it\u2019s happening. It\u2019s gotten to a point where it\u2019s not even being reported.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/assets.nydailynews.com\/polopoly_fs\/1.2413499.1445975587!\/img\/httpImage\/image.jpg_gen\/derivatives\/article_750\/plane-crash.jpg\" alt=\"Image result for AIRBUS QUEENS CRASH\" \/>You may &#8212; <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">or more to the point,<\/span> may not<\/em> &#8212; recall that soon after September 11, on November 12, 2001, an\u00a0Airbus out of JFK International crashed into the Belle Harbor neighborhood of Queens. Take a look at a photo from The New York <em>Daily News<\/em>. This was a major crash.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>All 260 people on board the flight were killed, along with five people on the ground<span style=\"color: #000000;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong>It was the second-deadliest aviation incident in the history of New York state.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">When even a small private plane carrying four people crashes, it normally makes fairly big national news.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">And a large plane crash even as far away as Indonesia, or Russia, or Egypt: bigger yet.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Remember that Indonesia AsiaAir flight in 2014? How could you not. It was a headline for weeks. One hundred and fifty-five were killed &#8212; nearly a hundred less than in media-rich New York City!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Yet, the Queens crash has faded into memory, if it ever was recorded. Was it terrorism? Who knows. No evidence. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">This is the question: How much publicity did it receive?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/7\/76\/Twa_800_in-flight_breakup.jpg\/220px-Twa_800_in-flight_breakup.jpg\" \/>The same was possibly true of Flight 800 &#8212; that passenger jet that went into the ocean off Long Island, killing 230 in 1996.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Dozens of people<\/span> insisted they saw what looked like a missile blazing up from the surface to the aircraft, but the Federal Aviation Commission quickly spirited away the wreckage, very, very quietly conducted an &#8220;investigation,&#8221; and deemed it an accident, aging wiring, admittedly a known problem (a gauge went wild just before the crash), to the skepticism of many aeronautical experts who said this was no normal mechanical &#8212; or electrical &#8212; failure.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">We don&#8217;t want to cast blame on the wrong parties, but in too many instances, mishaps bear peculiar resemblance to known Muslim acts of terrors.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>How\u00a0<em>many<\/em> Muslim names do you hear in regard to shooting and bombings and other acts of violence?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>The D.C. sniper? His name was\u00a0John Allen Muhammad.\u00a0Fort Hood? The gunman who killed thirteen there was Nidal Hasan.\u00a0Those shootings in San Bernardino? The perpetrators were Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/commons\/thumb\/d\/d7\/D.C._Sniper_Bushmaster_XM-15_Rifle.png\/220px-D.C._Sniper_Bushmaster_XM-15_Rifle.png\" alt=\"Image result for dc sniper rifle\" \/>Besides initially shielding or downplaying Islamic names, excuses are made and descriptions dispensed, portraying such evil as isolated sociopathic events.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Call it what it was: Muslim violence against Americans. \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Said one student of the liberal media cover up, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #000000; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/The left supports the ideologies, black nationalism and Islam, in whose name they carried out their crimes so the media has to redirect attention away from the ideology to the individual. It doesn\u2019t matter that the killers were very clear about their motives. What matters is hiding the truth.\">Daniel Greenfield<\/a><\/span>:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>&#8220;The left supports the ideologies, black nationalism and Islam, in whose name they carried out their crimes so the media has to redirect attention away from the ideology to the individual.\u00a0It doesn\u2019t matter that the killers were very clear about their motives. What matters is hiding the truth.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8220;Irreligious, depressed loner with family problems. Check. No connection to Islamic terrorism. Suggestion of mental illness. Check and check. Insistence on his lack of interest in religion? One final check.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The list is extensive. How about the first attempts to soften the Marathon bombers (as just isolated misfits), or St. Cloud, Minnesota, or Orlando (that was\u00a0Omar Mateen).\u00a0 Last spring, the Los Angeles <em>Times<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/projects\/la-fg-worldwide-terror-graphic\/\">set out<\/a> to list every single terrorist attack in the month of April that it could find, counting 180 attacks that killed 858 people. Not every one of those attacks made your local nightly newscast. In fact, just about none did.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Back to last week:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>Someone playing with the power grid? Perhaps. Terrorists are widely known to have studied our electrical system. Folks with binoculars have been spotted outside nuclear plants. So, excuse the suspicion.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000;\"><strong>In other cases &#8212; like Flight 800, and the plane in Queen &#8212; more suspicious still.
