As of May 13, 2026, the latest global extreme-weather picture was one of not just sharp but jolting contrasts.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

South Africa has declared a natural disaster after torrential rain, floods, high winds, and even snow hit six provinces, killing at least 10 and damaging more than 10,000 structures around Cape Town alone.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On the dry and hot side, an early-season heatwave is building across the western U.S. and Mexico, with parts of California and Arizona forecast 18\u201327\u00b0Fahrenheit above normal, Palm Springs near 104\u2013110\u00b0F. Reuters reports more than 150 million hectares burned from January through April, with record or near-record fire<\/a><\/span> damage in Africa and Asia, linked to rapid swings from wet growth to dry fuel and rising heat.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Once a lifeline of ancient civilizations and a defining boundary of empires, the river is now increasingly viewed through a more symbolic lens\u2014especially among those who study biblical prophecy. For some observers, the shrinking waters are not just an ecological warning sign, but a potential alignment with ancient predictions found in the Book of Revelation.”<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

In the Book of Revelation, chapter 16, it points out, there is described a striking moment when \u201cthe sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the East.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In ancient context, the Euphrates was more than a river\u2014it was a geopolitical boundary, a natural defense line that separated the ancient Near East from eastern powers.
