The median worship attendance dropped by more than half. Church closures and the rise of the nones \u2014 those who claim no religion \u2014 have grabbed all the headlines. And faith in institutions like organized religion has plummeted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"subscriber-only\">\n<p>Yet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/religionnews.com\/2026\/04\/24\/worship-attendance-at-churches-up-for-the-first-time-in-decades-according-to-new-report\">a new report<\/a>\u00a0from the Hartford Institute for Religion Research shows signs of a shift \u2014 for the first time in two decades, attendance is up.
