This year’s brewing El Ni\u00f1o will likely become the strongest ever recorded, a new forecast warns.<\/p>\n

Earth’s last El Ni\u00f1o ran from June 2023 to April 2024, delivering an injection of heat to our\u00a0already warming world<\/u><\/a>\u00a0that made 2024\u00a0the hottest year on record<\/u><\/a>\u00a0and the first to breach the 1.5 C (2.7 F) warming limit \u2014 a key guardrail set by the\u00a0Paris Agreement<\/u><\/a>, after which the effects of climate change become increasingly disastrous.
