It isn’t just politics.\u00a0It isn’t just racial and ethnic anymore.\u00a0It isn’t “just” religion.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n It’s basic sociology — two distinct cultures now, on the same terra firma, <\/em>with even their own separate media — and this is potentially explosive. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Some, like the respected Patrick Buchanan (traditionalist Catholic, former presidential counselor, and commentator), are now openly discussing the chances of civil war. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Ironically, we even see debate over the Confederate flag.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We also see a congressman shot.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n We are not there<\/span> — civil war, an actual divvying up of this great land. Not yet close. But we are careening in that direction.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n And it is not just in our public life: The spirit of division, a manifestation of the devil, is moving everywhere and in all directions, micheing along the shadows, including at the workplace and especially in families (witness the rate of divorce).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Politics is <\/span>blood sport<\/span>\u00a0— also now, literally.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>A TV “comedienne” who is famously seen each year on CNN on New Year’s Eve shows up posing with the bloody head of Donald Trump.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n At the same time, in New York, reports the\u00a0Daily News,<\/em>\u00a0“The Public Theater is refusing to back down after backlash over its production of ‘Julius Caesar’ that portrays a Donald Trump-like dictator in a business suit with a long tie who gets knifed to death onstage.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Excuse us for having to present graphic photos.\u00a0But they tell a story — instantly.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In San Francisco, this from Reuters three days ago:\u00a0“Tens of thousands of people dressed in rainbow attire and waving protest signs walked en masse through Los Angeles on Sunday in a ‘Resist March’ against U.S. President Donald Trump, an event that took the place of the city’s annual Pride parade.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n And from USA Today<\/em>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In the nation\u2019s capital, an \u201cEquality March for Unity and Pride\u201d attracted about 43,000 participants, according to the event\u2019s Facebook page<\/span><\/a>. Marchers paraded past the White House trailing a giant rainbow flag.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Reported Lifesite News: “An ‘Equality March’ was held in the nation’s capital on Sunday, focusing on ‘resisting’ the pro-life, pro-family, pro-marriage Trump administration.\u00a0Among those marching against conservative values were the ‘Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,’ a San Francisco-based group of self-described ‘queers’ that the government has granted non-profit tax deductible status.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The group uses Christian terms and contorts them to mock the sacraments and Church life in general, such as ‘Sister Inferior’ and ‘Sister Hysterectoria.’ The men call themselves ‘queer nuns<\/a><\/span>,’ even though the anti-Catholic group is openly devoted to promiscuity.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In Christianity itself<\/span> are divides everywhere — liberal versus conservative, conservatives versus other conservatives (over this issue and that issue, over this way of attending Mass or that apparition).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In the new book,\u00a0Josiah’s Fire<\/em><\/a> <\/span>(recommended), a mother details how her autistic son has been receiving messages from Heaven, including this one, whereby he was told that “times vanished when business became God, when daily vagueness became faith, when basic religion became artful national theological meanness.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Read that one more than once.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Then look at the nastiness in “Catholic” and other “Christian” blogs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Evil masquerades but always leaves the sulfur of divisiveness.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Another word of knowledge we have quoted of late abpout a new great evil that has settled upon us because: “It was a choice by man, including My people, who find deception in rancor and rancor where was ordained love.”<\/i><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The Church is supposed to be<\/span> a place not of debate, not of legalistic jousting, but of love.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n There are stirrings in every direction. The Supreme Court is poised to rule on a number of issues to do with religious freedoms and gays. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n There are divisions in the Catholic Church (very, very<\/em>\u00a0unfortunate, especially at this time). <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n There are divisions between the U.S., neighboring nations, and European allies.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Christians too are taking to the streets — with right cause.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This from Associated Press:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “Demonstrators around the country rallied to protest Islamic law, saying it is incompatible with Western democracy. But many of the rallies drew even more raucous counter-protests by people who called such fears unfounded.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “The demonstrations were held in more than two dozen U.S. cities, including Seattle, New York and Chicago.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “Hundreds of counter-protesters<\/span> marched through downtown Seattle behind a large sign saying ‘Seattle stands with our Muslim neighbors.’ They marched to City Hall, where dozens of anti-Shariah protesters rallied. Police used tear gas to disperse rowdy demonstrators and arrested three people.”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Christian versus Muslim. Believers versus humanist.
