The attack shocked the Marian shrine and triggered an intense police operation that ended with the arrest of a Polish citizen.<\/p>\n<p>Nine years ago,\u00a0<strong>Bart\u0142omiej W\u0142odzimierz Krakowiak<\/strong>\u00a0walked some 1,300 kilometers from Warsaw to Medjugorje, convinced that the Virgin had changed his life. He wrote a book about his pilgrimage, gave testimony of his conversion in parishes and schools across Poland, and even appeared in a film about his return to the faith.
