{"id":85765,"date":"2026-09-10T00:22:01","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T04:22:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/?p=85765"},"modified":"2026-09-10T15:54:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T19:54:57","slug":"a-look-back-at-9-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/a-look-back-at-9-11\/","title":{"rendered":"A Look Back At 9\/11"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Let&#8217;s talk about the miracles of September 11, 2001.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">They were numerous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">But first, if you want to revisit a news report that day:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"9\/11\/01: The towers are hit\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9eTzV7HvKHU\" width=\"1060\" height=\"795\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Latest casualties?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cancer from the toxic chemicals in all that smoke and dust.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Prayer need, for it seems the disaster has not ended.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8220;The number of 9\/11 cancer victims has skyrocketed 1,680% over the past decade \u2014 fueled by rare variations of the disease, according to new statistics released as the grim 25th anniversary of the attacks nears,&#8221;reports the New York\u00a0<em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/31\/us-news\/9-11-cancers-skyrocket-nearly-1700-ahead-of-25th-anniversary\/\">Post.<\/a> &#8220;<\/span><\/em>Cancer certifications\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/08\/29\/us-news\/retired-port-authority-cops-tell-mamdani-hochul-to-stay-home-from-nyc-9-11-ceremony\/\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">among Twin Tower survivors,<\/span>\u00a0<\/a>downtown Manhattan residents and workers on and near The Pile have exploded from 3,204 in 2015 to 57,044 this year, reveal figures compiled by the World Trade Center Health Program.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Twenty-five years after the 9\/11 attacks, an estimated 9,425 are now dying from post-9\/11-related illnesses, more than triple the 2,977 lives lost Sept. 11, 2001.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSadly, we lose roughly two clients a day and see a new cancer certification every 50 minutes,\u201d said lawyer Michael Barasch, whose firm represents thousands of people enrolled in the World Trade Center Health Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\">\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It is considered the most historic event in the lifetimes of most Americans\u2014for good reason. Compare it to the roughly 1,500 who died in the <em>Titanic<\/em>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">+<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Miracles?<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Port Authority officer Will Jimeno was buried under roughly 30 feet of wreckage after the South Tower collapsed. Badly injured, burned, desperately thirsty, and believing he was dying, Jimeno prayed and thanked God for his life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He later said he then saw a figure in a glowing white robe whom he immediately understood to be Jesus, approaching amid a scene of water, trees, and waving grass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">One of the most extraordinary escapes of all: that would be <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kalb.com\/content\/news\/911-Survivor-recounts-being-in-South-Tower-when-plane-hit-560178321.html\">Stanley\u00a0 Praimnath.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gray-kalb-prod.gtv-cdn.com\/resizer\/v2\/2EB2PRFYVRI45DQKA6EN43UMAU.jpg?auth=32bf7ffdb7689e1d7cc1f620cc0a3e695061bf6049e3faa39c33b9dcac972ffe&amp;width=800&amp;height=450&amp;smart=true\" alt=\"Stanley Praimnath, 9\/11 survivor from Louisiana. | Photo Source: KPLC\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He worked on the 81st floor of the South Tower, within the impact zone. After initially evacuating because the North Tower had been hit, he was told it was safe and returned upstairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He then looked out his window and saw United Flight 175 coming almost directly toward him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Praimnath dropped beneath his desk crying out to God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The aircraft ripped<\/span> through his floor, destroying virtually everything around him, yet the section containing his desk survived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">And how about Pasquale Buzzelli\u2014the man who apparently \u201csurfed\u201d the collapse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/preview.redd.it\/pasquale-buzzeli-is-the-only-known-person-on-9-11-to-v0-cmb763lfa9of1.jpeg?auto=webp&amp;s=7e7ee78a4ceaba7dd04736eda5f23828a5573514\" alt=\"r\/ThatsInsane - Pasquale Buzzeli is the only known person, on 9\/11, to survive the north tower collapse while being above the 16th floor\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Buzzelli, a Port Authority structural engineer, was descending the North Tower and had reached approximately the 22nd floor when the building began collapsing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He curled into a fetal position and prayed for his family.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The stairwell gave way beneath him. Instead of being crushed, he apparently rode or fell with the descending mass of debris and eventually landed atop a pile of wreckage many stories below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He awakened hours later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Depending on the reconstruction, his fall may have amounted to roughly 15\u201318 floors or around 200 feet, with injuries that were astonishingly modest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">His pregnant wife had spent the day clutching a Crucifix and praying for his return.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">During the recovery operation, workers discovered two massive steel girders joined almost perfectly in the shape of a Cross, standing amid the devastation and now preserved at the National September 11 Memorial &amp; Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/riverheadlocal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/2014_09_2014_0914_LOP_cross_ground_zero.jpg\" alt=\"2014 0914 LOP cross ground zero\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">There was the story, which we broke, of a Catholic named Tom Burnett who led the charge into the cockpit of that plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. He and his wife Deene both had premonitions that he would die young, so much so that they tried to double their life insurance policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He felt he was on some sort of a \u201cmission\u201d that would involve the White House.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The plane they stopped from diverting to D.C. is thought to have been aimed at the Capitol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Close enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/flni\/learn\/historyculture\/images\/Burnett_large.jpg?maxwidth=650&amp;autorotate=false\" alt=\"Thomas E. Burnett, Jr. - Flight 93 National Memorial (U.S. National Park Service)\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The &#8220;Falling Man&#8221;?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In the photograph this victim looked almost serene, suspended perfectly upside down in mid-air, for a moment defying the inevitable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRL4f3xUP1c4KoUYPSNQ2NgsZiCcZ_bDGq1Wjp4rY9CiA&amp;s=10\" alt=\"September 11 terrorist attack: Truth behind the 9\/11 Falling Man photo | news.com.au \u2014 Australia's leading news site for latest headlines\" width=\"168\" height=\"258\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"0\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He is believed to have been Jonathan Briley, 43, a sound engineer at Windows on the World.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"0\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">He does not project fear, nor panic, nor anger at a life cut short in its prime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"0\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Briley was deeply religious and, six months before his death, had been ordained a deacon, serving as an armor bearer for his father, a Baptist pastor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"1\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">There have been <em>countless<\/em> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">cases of people who had premonitions of the disaster or afterward reporting &#8220;messages&#8221; from deceased loved ones who perished that dreadful day\u2014the far-beyond-coincidental finding of certain articles and objects (such as coins). Or dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Most haunting?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">As reported by a newspaper, \u201cAfter hearing a report about the trumpeter on WNYC radio, [A photographer who goes by the name of Miklos] went to Ground Zero to photograph him. In the eerie quiet of lower Manhattan, he could hear a trumpet as he approached a police barricade. About 150 yards away, Miklos says, the trumpeter stood \u2018in this abandoned urban canyon, illuminated by shafts of light caused by the smoke and dust.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The article went on to say that Miklos raised his telephoto lens, feeling he had \u201can incredible image\u201d \u2014 the photograph of a lifetime \u2014 but he couldn\u2019t depress the shutter and so never got the shot.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"section-kRIYgVluh4\">\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Let&#8217;s talk about the miracles of September 11, 2001.
