{"id":86028,"date":"2026-09-01T08:18:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T12:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/?p=86028"},"modified":"2026-09-01T08:18:34","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T12:18:34","slug":"tropical-storm-heads-for-gulf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spiritdaily.org\/blog\/tropical-storm-heads-for-gulf\/","title":{"rendered":"Tropical Storm Heads For Gulf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>From AP:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Tropical Storm Edouard headed toward the Gulf Coast early Tuesday and expected to gain strength before bringing potentially heavy rains and flooding into parts of Texas and Louisiana.\u00a0The storm\u00a0<span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/hurricane-karina-tropical-storm-lowell-pacific-ae53ec6c000b92675fe8202d171d131c\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\">was upgraded Monday night<\/a><\/span>\u00a0from a tropical depression and forecasters with the\u00a0<span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/hurricanes\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\">National Hurricane Center<\/a><\/span>\u00a0expect it will make landfall in Texas later on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Early Tuesday the storm was about 65 miles (100 kilometers) south-southeast of Cameron, Louisiana, and 90 miles (145 kilometers) southeast of Port Arthur, Texas, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph) while moving west-northwest at 8 mph (13 kph). Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the biggest problem expected from the storm is flooding.
