Rather than offering sound advice, Vance recalled, the bot simply validated selfish behavior.\u00a0\u00a0Experts call this tendency of machines to excessively agree with and flatter their users AI sycophancy. Vance chose spiritual terms. \u201cI think that\u2019s kind of satanic.\u201d\u00a0 He isn\u2019t alone in believing that advances in artificial intelligence will pique interest in the spiritual realm.
