The world needs you to be who God made you to be.

It needs you to be who you really are.

Are you? Or do you strive to be what you think pleases others?

If God is for you, who cares about anything else?

Lord God,

Take me where You want me to go today.

Let me meet the people You want me to meet today.

Give me the words You want me to say and hear today.

And if possible, keep me out of Your way. Amen.

(Prayer attributed to Fr. Mychael Judge, O.F.M. – first “official” victim of September 11)

When you pray, when you pray from your true self, you create a protective bubble, a “God spot,” around you.

""

This is wisdom, which supersedes knowledge.

The world needs what God has uniquely put in you.

“Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…” (Romans 12:6).

The implication is not everyone should be the same, but rather to use what God has given you. You are inferior to no one.

“For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works that God has prepared in advance, that we should live in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10).”

""

You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise you, so wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works!” (Psalm 139:13-14).

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good… God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be” (1 Corinthians 12:7, 18).

You are not an accident. You are God’s workmanship, uniquely gifted and created for good works (Ephesians 2:10; Psalm 139:13–14).

Carry that with you every day and let peace come with deep authenticity.
