Tim Walz\u2019s elevated profile as Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019 Democratic running mate has led to wider awareness of his staunch support for abortion in his state \u2014 including a bill he signed into law last year that removed a requirement to try to save the life of a baby born alive after an attempted abortion.<\/p>\n<p>A Minnesota <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/laws\/1976\/0\/Session+Law\/Chapter\/170\/pdf\/#laws.0.1.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a> that had been on the books since 1976 required \u201cresponsible medical personnel\u201d to use \u201c[a]ll reasonable measures consistent with good medical practice\u201d to \u201cpreserve the life and health of the born alive infant.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/laws\/2023\/0\/70\/laws.4.56.0#laws.4.56.0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">legislation<\/a> Walz signed in May 2023 got rid of the word \u201cpreserve\u201d and replaced the previous wording with a revised requirement \u201cto care for the infant who is born alive.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From National Catholic Register: Minnesota Gov.
