That’s the assertion of one book that appeared in Europe — though its credibility has been called into question. Is it real or false news? For the sake of summer rumination, we have been revisiting both sides of the debate, and respect them both, as long as there is no venom.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>[See here: video with Sister Lucia arguing it was fully done<\/a><\/span>.] <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Anyway, a blog entry drawn from the European publication and posted on a Catholic site, OnePeterFive, starts as follows:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n “In a\u00a0recent article on the Secret of Fatima<\/a>,<\/span> Steve Skojec, the founder and editor of\u00a0OnePeterFive<\/em>, published, to my knowledge, for the first time in the English language words from Rome\u2019s chief exorcist, Father Gabriele Amorth (d. 2016), about Padre Pio and his knowledge of the Third Secret of Fatima. They come from a newly published book written by Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Zavala, entitled\u00a0The Best Kept Secret of Fatima<\/em>\u00a0(El S\u00e9creto Mejor Guardado de F\u00e1tima<\/em>).\u00a0OnePeterFive<\/em>\u2018s contributor, Mr. Andrew Guernsey, was very helpful in finding these quotes. Since Mr. Skojec\u2019s own article is somewhat lengthy, many readers may not have realized the importance of this interview with Father Amorth, which was only to be published after the priest\u2019s death. In the following, I shall quote extensively from Steve\u2019s own post which first speaks about Father Amorth\u2019s own conviction that the specific Consecration of Russia has not yet taken place, and then enters into the larger discussion about Fatima:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n It [a piece of the Fatima puzzle] came in the form of an interview with the very famous (and now deceased) Roman exorcist, Fr. Gabriel Amorth, also conducted by Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Zavala. Fr. Amorth personally knew Saint (Padre) Pio for 26 years, and it is from this towering figure of 20th century Catholic sanctity that he claims to have learned the contents of the Third Secret of Fatima.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Fr. Amorth was interviewed by Zavala in 2011, who kept the interview secret until after the exorcist\u2019s death, publishing it for the first time in his book about Fatima. In the interview, Fr. Amorth relates \u2014 as he has done elsewhere \u2014 that he does not believe the consecration of the world by Pope John Paul II in 1984 was sufficient to satisfy the requirements set forth by Our Lady.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere was no such consecration then,\u201d he [Father Amorth] says. \u201cI witnessed the act. Did Saint Padre Pio really tell the world’s most famous exorcist, the late Father Gabriele Amorth, what was in the third secret of Fatima — leading the exorcist to claim it has not been fully revealed? And was the Consecration of Russia, as requested at Fatima, not fully done?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
