From The Mailbag and Unedited: Notes On Homosexuality, Strange Dreams, A Prayer Against Storms
First story
Dear Spirit Daily,
I am currently a 21 year old young man with same sex attractions living in New
York. For many years I struggled with my feelings and for a time I actually was
living the lifestyle only about two years. I couldn't understand how God would
assign someone such a burden, but now I see differently. My story is too
lengthy to discuss right now but all I can say is that major events happened in
my life that made me think about things, especially about God. An intense
spiritual conversion rocked my life and shook me back into the light. I
received wonderful insights into the Mass and other spiritual things through the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Up until recently I struggled with what to do
with these feelings, but God stepped in again and revealed to me in a more
intimate way what homosexuality is.
I learned that whether it is a trick of the devil, a cross sent by God, or just
plain old confusion, it must be carried like that of a cross. I believe all
homosexuals are called to live chaste and are called to mortify those desires to
be more like Christ. All of these revelations did not come overnight, in fact
they came with many tears. I feel with the current problems with same sex
marriages I and others like me will have to speak and/or minister to others who
do not have the grace to see the truth.
I am happy that you guys are not completely bashing people with homosexual
feelings, but at the same time making it clear that the behavior is wrong. Often
times people forget that we too are children of God and are in need of His
grace.
Thanks for everything that you guys do and continue to pray.
Especially in these days.

Second story
Dear Spirit Daily,
This is pretty strange, how it worked out this way. I thought you might find
this interesting.
What is the shortest chapter in the Bible? Psalms 117
What is the longest chapter in the Bible? Psalms 119
Which chapter is in the center of the Bible? Psalms 118
Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118
Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118
Add these numbers up and you get 1188
What is the center verse in the Bible? Answer - Psalms 118:8
Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our
lives?
The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their
lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the
center of His Word!
Psalms 118:8 "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence
in man."
Now isn't that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

Third story
Dear Mr. Brown:
I read your website every morning and was particularly interested in yesterday's article regarding a man from Texas and his message of earth changes and God's purification.
In 1996, I had what I describe as a day dream or strong subconcious thought of England being flooded or thrown into the bottom of the Atlantic with Cornwell being pulled by a force. Did this viewer have any idea as to the time? I have had other dreams but have never been given any idea as to dates.
Around the same time, I also had a dream where a person who looked like a monk opened what appeared to be an artist's portfolio case. He said this is the future and showed a map which looked like a USGS topographic map which showed eastern Pennsylvania as being the Atlantic shoreline. I was told the ocean was dangerous and not to go into it. I was shown that the map of the shoreline corresponds with the eastern side of the Cherbourg peninsula. A few days later, I looked at an Atlas which showed a strong similarity between what I saw and the French peninsula.
Of course these could be normal dreams of nonsense but during the same time I had a dream of much significance. The dream opened up with many people crowding around a TV watching what appeared to be a large white dome such as the U.S. Congress or a radar dome. The sky was light blue and cloudless. Suddenly something came from the right and hit the structure which blew up.
This, of course, made no sense. Why would so many people all be watching this building before it was noteworthy? Five years later I turned on the morning TV and all channels were fixed on one of the World Trade Center towers which was hit by some sort of plane. The CNBC anchor thought it might have been a disgruntled United or American pilot whose union was being asked to give into wage concessions. He said it could not have been an accident because the sky was perfectly blue without a cloud in the sky. (A rarity for New York as you know.) As the nation watched the first tower burn, from the right, a second plane appeared and the second tower was hit. It was identical to what appeared in my dream years earlier. (Except for the shape of the building or structure. So I'm not perfect.)
As I said above, I have seen all of this but I am still looking for times. I hope the man from Texas has an idea.
Best Regards,

Fourth story
Dear Michael,
You may be familiar with the little blue prayer book known as the Pieta. (It has a picture of Michaelangelo's Pieta on the front.) Many Catholics I've known for years from all over the country look at this book as a spiritual treasure. I and others purchase several of them at a time and give them out freely when inspired to do so. On page 49, there is the prayer or blessing against storms and my parents said it when I was a child. My husband and I continue this practice and I can truly attest to its effectiveness. This prayer honestly never fails. We live in western Pennsylvania on the border of Ohio(20 minutes from Youngstown and 60 minutes north of Pittsburgh). We have had some brutal storms this summer and a couple of tornadoes touched down close to our home in July. We said the storm prayer and nothing in our neighborhood was touched. This isn't the first time; this has happened on numerous occasions, and sometimes upon saying the prayer, the clouds disperse almost instantly. The weather pattern actually breaks up and people we talk to are shocked. (They don't know we're praying this prayer.)
I thought perhaps you could research this prayer and publicize it for your readers so that they could have recourse to this powerful prayer. We even have the habit of saying it if the forecast is threatening. Last week we took our six children on a much needed two day vacation to Lake Erie and the forecast wasn't hopeful. So, in the van, we prayed the storm prayer. We asked Jesus to give us the blue skies we needed to get the rest and recreation we so needed. The dark clouds dispersed within about an hour and we had two perfect days of sunshine. We did tell Jesus that we would accept rain if that was His will, but to keep it calm so we didn't have any problems with lightning or tornadoes, etc.
Thanks! Marianne Elliott
