================================================== "SENT TO EARTH" Through the centuries, since Noah, there have been strange times: periods when floods, earthquakes, tidal waves, storms, droughts, plagues, volcanoes, and even asteroid or comet activity have haunted the earth as one huge series of events. It happened during ancient Egypt; it happened to the Greeks; it happened to the Roman Empire. It’s about to happen again, claims author Michael H. Brown in a book released by Queenship Publishing of Santa Barbara, California Monday. It's not some far-out event. It's not sensationalism. It's a realistic look at what clearly seems headed our way -- based on interviews with hundreds of scientists and seers and based on the events -- the storms, the floods, the change in climate -- that are already starting to occur as signs of the times around us. The end of the world? No. The apocalypse? No one knows. But events of massive consequence. It's coming more gradually than many expected, but it's still coming -- unless we do something about it. "During the last ten years a flood of false seers has cried wolf to the point where many faithful have fallen away and don't believe any longer," commented Brown. "But the essence of the major sites of apparition still calls out a warning: unless there is massive conversion there will be massive destruction." It's not "doom and gloom." It's a fact that is there for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. God is poised to send major events upon us, and it’s for a simple reason. Like the people in ancient times, like those at the time of Noah -- like Sodom and Nineveh — we’ve allowed evil to build up, and as a result we face happenings everywhere. Whenever a society turns on a wicked path, events are sent. Hurricane Andrew. The Mississippi flood. Wildfire. Since 1989 the United States has seen seven of its top ten greatest disasters, and every year the pace steps up. Whether from science, whether from prophecy, whether from the nightly news, are signs that the big one — a series of events that will affect every region of the world -- is about to begin, punctuated, possibly, by a cosmic event. Such was indicated in secret prophecies granted by the Virgin Mary to shepherds in France (on a mysterious mountain). The seasons would alter, said the Virgin; there would be a change in climate; there would be quakes; the entire globe would go through convulsions. Similar indications have come from places like Medjugorje. What else is in those prophecies — and how do they relate to what’s happening now? Are the prophecies still operative? How can we avoid this destruction? In virtually every field are indications that major natural disasters are about to occur. In the Atlantic is a hidden fault that could cause a massive tidal wave; in California astronomers nervously watch for asteroids; in Miami the government has built a fortress-like hurricane center. Not since the Middle Ages -- when a third of Europe died from the Black Death -- have we been in such a critical period; not since the end of the Roman Empire have we faced a global disturbance; not since the time of the pyramids have we raced so blindly toward the types of disasters that swept and changed, that terrified, the ancient world -- and that without an urgent turn back to Christ are now set to return.
