Angels
and Devils by Joan Carroll Cruz In the most thorough book about
angels
in modern times, Cruz answers virtually every question: when they
were created, their knowledge of the
future, their access to our thoughts -- with facts and insights on
everything from Guardian Angels to demons. Many of life's issues are better
understood when we comprehend the pervasive nature and good and evil
spirits.

You had an article, not long ago, about people successfully losing
weight. I decided to "weigh in" on this discussion, and especially about
the help of the book, "Foods Jesus Ate And How To Grow Them". This source
of knowledge has helped me to lose, as of this morning, 35 pounds. More
importantly, it has allowed me to remove myself from all diabetes
medications, while maintaining a healthy blood glucose level.
The diet itself is very simple. Nikki bakes two loaves of unleaven bread
each weekend. These loaves are quartered, and the sections are bagged and
frozen. Each morning, I heat up one section, and add a small amount of
butter or cheese. This, along with a Nutri-Grain cereal bar, is
breakfast. Lunch is always fish, even if it has to be a fast-food fish
sandwich. To this, I
add fruits and vegetables, and sometimes a sugar-free dessert.
Dinner is often roasted almonds, followed by
one or two more cereal bars. Missing from the diet are meats and sweets,
although sometimes chicken white meat is a good healthy choice at dinner.
As with all diets, body weight seems to reach
certain "plateaus", and stubbornly stays there for days or even weeks. It
is important to stay the course, and have faith. With moderate daily
exercise, or an active physical vocation, the progress will continue.
Encouragement from friends and loved ones really helps.
I plan to lose another 15 pounds, and see if
it is necessary to continue. This will bring me down to 185, which still
seems heavy for my height. I'd like to also reduce or eliminate my need
for blood pressure medication, if possible.
I thought that you might find this
interesting. My general health, energy levels and even mental focus are
greatly improved. These things help me to be a better servant of Our
Lord, which should be the proper goal of all of our efforts.
In Jesus and Mary,
Joel
