When in need, put it in the God jar
Call it, as one woman does, the "God Jar."
"I've done this for a number of years now and it's crazy how stuff gets taken care of without my having to worry about it," she said. "It's awesome."
Miraculous. We've started to do it, our own little petition box, but in this case a large jar to put in worries and other prayer needs.
As this person of faith was saying the other day, if you have
anxieties, if you have something you're having trouble letting go, if
you have shame, hurtful memories, if you are in real need, or even in
need of just a little something -- if
you're just not trusting enough, not faithful enough -- you can take a pitcher or a jar and
write your prayer request on a piece of paper and put it in the jar, giving it to Christ,
giving it to the angels, the Madonna, to
saints; giving it to God.
It's a spiritual mailbox.
Put it in the jar and then: forget about it.
You too may be amazed at what happens.
It is an act of drawing down Heaven and letting go of the control you feel need to have over your life and letting the Lord direct matters, solve problems, reorient you, provide heartease and discernment.
That's because our God is "awesome" and "perfect" (to use the current parlance, in the true sense of those words).
Maybe you have a beautiful pitcher you want to
use. We simply took a large glass honey jar, put a little blessed oil
from the apparition site of Laus in it, along with oil from the Holy
Land, a few drop of Holy Water from Lourdes, holy cards, a little stone
from St. Michael cave, and so forth --
even let smoke from a couple blessed candles get inside -- and started
with the requests. A plain jar with nothing but your request will do.

Perhaps we can also call it the "Jesus jug."
Take a leap of faith.
And now, move forward fearlessly. God "has your back." If you feel something is right in your heart, something new, something daring, do it. Step out onto the water. Your heart is where the Holy Spirit speaks to you. Get used to using your heart more than your brain.
At night, thank God for what He did, for every single thing, every challenge, and review everything you have done for others. Maybe it was just making someone smile.
And don't worry if you don't have a candle from Fatima, or a medal from Guadalupe, or Lourdes water. Maybe you have an old rosary, or whatever. Perhaps you don't want to put in anything. The point is letting go.
The point is taking the anxieties and confusions of life and letting the Lord and His agents take care of them.
