The latest update from the NHC shows that Hurricane Francine is expected to strengthen into a Category 2 hurricane by this afternoon. The track has also shifted slightly to the west, but southeast Louisiana is still in the potential path for landfall.
A special update from the National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Francine has strengthened even further according to Hurricane Hunter Information. Winds are at 90 mph and its minimum central pressure is 976 mb. The storm is moving northeast at 12 mph.
