From PNW:
Twenty-five years ago, Americans watched in horror as hijacked passenger jets struck the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, while courageous passengers fought back aboard United Flight 93. Nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered in a single morning.
The country now faces another danger: an entire generation has grown up without any personal memory of September 11. In 2023, videos praising Osama bin Laden’s “Letter to America” spread across social media as some young users claimed they had finally learned the “truth” about 9/11. The man who orchestrated the murder of thousands was being rediscovered not as a terrorist mastermind, but as an anti-imperialist thinker whose grievances supposedly deserved admiration. That is what happens when living memory disappears and history is surrendered to influencers.
