My dear people of Ukraine,
Praise be Jesus and Mary! I wish to greet you from my heart. In June of 1981, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to me and 5 others in our village of Medjugorje. She came to us at a time of great suffering. It was the time when communism was at its peak causing the upheaval of nations, the stripping of human dignity and the slaughter of the innocent, including the religious and clergy. Communism tried to enforce an indoctrination that God does not exist. She came to us as the Queen of Peace saying that Her Son Jesus sent Her to help us. The central message of Medjugorje is summarized in Our Lady’s own words: “Peace, peace and only peace. May peace reign in the world; may peace reign in each person’s heart. Peace must reign between God and man and among all men.” How very much these words resonate for us all today. The Queen of Peace came to offer us consolation in our sorrows, encouragement in our despair and a firm assurance that God does truly exist and that He is with us. God hears our cries; He is our peace.
My dear friends of the Ukraine, Our Lady is with you to help you. She too, like in Medjugorje, is offering you abundant consolation in your sorrows, encouragement and hope in these grim moments and a firm assurance that God is truly with you through this ordeal. Also, the Virgin herself is personally interceding for each of you. It is Our Lady’s role to intercede for Her children in need.
My dear friends, you are not forgotten. There are tens of millions of people around the world who follow the message and call of the Queen of Peace who are praying and sacrificing for you at this moment. Our Lady has so often comforted us in her messages by saying, “I am with you.” My dear friends of the Ukraine, Our Mother is with you in a very special way.
In the names of Jesus and Mary I am extending my spirit of encouragement and consolation to all of you. I am personally recommending to Our Lady, the Queen of Peace, all the bishops, the leaders, and the entire people of the Ukraine especially at this moment to give you the needed strength and hope. God bless you.
Affectionately,
Ivan Dragicevic
