From World News Group:
The proportion of deaths in Belgium caused by euthanasia has more than doubled over a five-year period, reaching almost 4% of all deaths in 2025, according to new numbers from the government. Belgium’s Federal Commission for the Control and Evaluation of Euthanasia released a report last week.
Right To Life UK Chief Executive Alisdair Hungerford-Morgan said Tuesday that the numbers were deeply alarming. His organization is seeking increased investment in palliative care rather than the legalization of assisted suicide. A bill to allow euthanasia failed only narrowly in the House of Commons last month. “People suffering from mental or physical health conditions deserve protection and the best possible care, not a pathway to suicide,” he said.
