In this fleeting life
This ephemeral illusion
What is this face?
In this deceitful world
Full of seductive lies
What is this body?
Beauty and pleasure
Are of no interest to me
Let them leave me
Better I suffer with joy, Lord
Than give way to the gilded world
That would swallow me whole
In my silent pain
In my secret anguish
I felt Your hand on mine
Let me forsake the world, Lord
Let me choose You
Let my body cry and wither
And my soul flourish
In You
