Residents of the U.S. territory of Guam are bracing for potentially catastrophic conditions from Super Typhoon Bavi, which may hit the Western Pacific island as a Category 5 storm.
Super Typhoon Bavi has winds of 145 mph, which is the equivalent of a Category 4 hurricane, as of Friday morning ET, which is very early Saturday morning in Guam. Sustained winds could reach an unprecedented 175 mph by Saturday afternoon local time.
