Letting Go Of What Is Gone
Remember in this new year to let what is in your past pass.
Don’t let the devil chain you to old errors.
Once confessed, seeking mercy, mistakes, however profound, are forgiven.
Can you forgive yourself?
No sin is too large.
The past is prologue and the past is gone.
We wipe it clear with the Name of Jesus, as we do so much else. Instead of reaching first for medication, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Instead of racing off to a psychiatrist, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Instead of grabbing for a pill or a drink, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. When anger and irritation and attack from the enemy come, the Name of Jesus has all power. Slowly, quietly, during day, in the night: Jesus, Jesus.
We stumble when we are focused on what is behind us.
We stumble when we refuse to leave past moments.
We stumble when we are not clear of relationships gone wrong.
We stumble when we obsess over money lost.
Let the new year start every new day with pure love as the goal.
Let that “goal post” reach through the clouds.
Love transports prayer to the highest heaven.
So does praise.
Instill nearness to Him instead of fear of the devil.
Satan can do nothing if you are close to God.
Before anything, remember that pride — the energy of Satan — causes distance from Him.
Simply pray (Jesus…) at every tempting thought.
That is the resolution of resolutions and a remedy for nearly all.

[Footnote too for the New Year from 2 Timothy 3: “There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God — having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.”]
