From the mail (Australia):
Years ago before God came into my life my language was very bad. I would curse, swear, say abusive things and angry words. Then later when The Lord, Jesus, showed me His passion on the cross He showed me the people at the foot of the cross abusing Him, swearing at Him, cursing Him, mocking Him being angry at Him, gossiping about Him. He explained that when I spoke in a bad way I was with these people, I was one of them saying those words to Him. It was heartbreaking to understand that. From that moment, by God’s grace, I have tried to avoid saying anything bad. Not only because I do not want to offend Jesus but because He also showed me when I spoke this way about others I let evil into my words and life. That the evil in my words could hurt and damage others mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I feel so sad to see many people speaking in unkind ways not understanding the effect they are having on themselves but also on others and how they open the door to evil in their words. It is commonplace nowadays and even some of the so-called well educated people or people in positions of authority speak this way. When they do they set an example of evil before others. It is in many movies, tv and radio shows, entertainment shows. It seems to be the norm to speak this way.
How the evil one laughs as he sees people no longer showing respect for one another in their words, that is what he wants. The evil one wants people to be abusive like he is, to speak badly as he does because in doing so we imitate him and bring the shadow of evil not only into our lives but the lives of others. Whenever I hear people speaking this way I pray for God to bless them. When they speak at me this way I respond saying, ‘God bless you.’ In this way, I do not respond with evil but with good hoping that God will truly bless the people.
Remember when people speak this way it is the evil in their lives speaking and respond to it with goodness as it is only by the goodness of God that evil is overcome. I know at times it is hard not to speak this way especially when arguing or when a person gets angry but with effort, time and with the help of God it is possible. Sometimes when others speak this way and we are with them we just do the same to blend in to be like them. But we are not meant to be like them we are meant to be like The Lord, Jesus, we are meant to be different. We should set the example to others of what it is to speak in nice, kind and loving ways.
I ask God daily to help me treat others with respect in my words and actions and that He would give me the grace to be this way as I cannot do it by myself. It is so easy at times to slip into bad words but if you do, as soon as you recognize this, ask God for forgiveness. Look to The Lord, Jesus, on the cross and say sorry. So that your words do not unite with those at the foot of the cross insulting The Lord instead your words of sorrow bring comfort to His suffering heart.
Our Lord, Jesus, always spoke in a good way and we as His followers should make every effort to do the same.
