Mailbag: Eclipse Emotions

April 9, 2024 by sd

Well, I just have to share my thoughts after witnessing the eclipse yesterday here in Dallas.
It was an Absolutely incredible experience. And the clouds parted for us in a big way. I am grateful.
  Everyone who saw it to
a person and tv reports described themselves as being very emotional. I think for many that emotion was a surprise. Reporters cried live on air. There was a togetherness. Many mentions of God.  School children screamed with joy and hugged each other.
It was a gift, like a valentine, a hug from God, for which we knew we were totally undeserved. God was showing us his heart.  Complete gratefulness and humility for such a gift.
Then overnight here in Dallas we had strong storms in the forecast. At 3:00 am, we had a deluge, and I’m using that word on purpose. Heavy, heavy rain, extraordinary lightning that lasted a solid hour.
I started praying the Divine Mercy chaplet. I wasn’t too scared though because I was still feeling that warm hug from the eclipse, like a hedge of protection.
There is street flooding this morning in places, but the main focus is still what happened yesterday, and tv reporters are still tearing up when talking about the eclipse.
I see on Facebook that you all were at an eclipse event too.
  Thanks for reading.
