Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., held a town hall Tuesday evening in her home district amid recent shootings involving federal immigration agents and local agitators in Minneapolis. The event started out mostly uneventful until a man attacked the congresswoman with some sort of chemical spray that had a foul odor, according to those close by. Those nearby Omar wanted her to leave, but Omar refused and continued on. “Please don’t let them have the show,” Omar could be heard saying after she was hit with the foul-smelling spray. “We will continue! These [expletives] are not going to get away with this.”

Rep. Ilhan Omar was attacked during a town hall Tuesday in Minneapolis by a man who sprayed a substance on the congresswoman as she spoke. Minneapolis police said the assailant was arrested.
Omar, D-Minn., was speaking behind a lectern to constituents against President Donald Trump‘s immigration crackdown in Minneapolis when a man sitting in the front row of seats stood up and sprayed her with an unknown substance while yelling something unintelligible at her. The department identified the suspect to UPI in a statement as Anthony Kazmierczak, 55.
