Just along one small, roughly 2-mile stretch between Duke’s seafood restaurant and Nobu Malibu, homes belonging to some of the world’s richest people have disappeared. In this video posted to X on Jan. 8, which starts around the 22000 block of Pacific Coast Highway, the world famous Carbon Beach is now mostly just foundation slabs and a few charred crossbeams.
A home linked through public records to billionaire developer and Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon and his partner Bui, a Thai philanthropist and 1988’s Miss Universe, is completely gone. Zillow valued the about 5,300-square-foot residence at around $32 million. Two doors down, a property linked publicly to high-end art advisor Barbara Guggenheim has been destroyed; it was renting for $55,000 per month. As of Friday, the listing has been taken down.
