The pregnant woman rescued from a sinking car in Florida on Feb. 6 is speaking out for the first time— and confirmed she gave birth hours after being rescued on her 29th birthday.
Shedly Apollon told local outlet CBS 12 that she was driving to a prenatal massage appointment when she began to feel like she was going to faint. After attempting to pull off the highway off of I-95 West near Stuart, Florida, she says that the car “veered off the road and plunged into a pond,” according to the outlet. Apollon was rescued by a Good Samaritan identified as Logan Hayes, who spotted the car while driving past. “When he swung that door open, I was just like, ‘Okay, you are an angel. You came out of nowhere,” Apollon told CBS 12.
