Fr. Tom Szura was doing what he always did: Pray for the sick when they were in their most vulnerable state.
Unfortunately, a tragic accident ended his life as he was going to pray for a sick friend. “He was going to help somebody else to give them the last rites,” Greg Davis, Szura’s friend of 20 years, said on Friday. “For him to be taken so quickly and under those circumstances, it’s just unbelievable.” When he stepped into the crosswalk, he was hit by a car. He was quickly rushed to the emergency room at Corewell, but he died of his injuries a short time later.
