Social Media: What’s Heaven Like

From Quora:

What does Heaven look like in your imagination?

I must be honest, I’ve seen Heaven. At 16 the boy that I was with passed out while driving I was told. I had fallen asleep on his shoulder. Mind you, in the 70′s seatbelts weren’t required. To block our path from going over a very high mountain, he hit a large tree. A tree to this day, people who lived across the street said was never there begore that night. I died. I could hear him say, “she’s not dead” I saw them zip the bag over me, then in a blink of an eye I was standing in heaven. It was so beautiful that there are no words to describe the Majestic Glory that radiated. I could hear angels singing praise to God in the highest to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I wanted to go in those Gates desperately. There was such a sense of overwhelming love and peace and I wanted and craved more of it I needed to go to God. But it wasn’t my time, Jesus appeared to me touch my shoulder and told me that I had to come back that my purpose has yet to be fulfilled. I remember turning and looking at this figure, with such love such desire to be near and said I didn’t want to leave and again I was told I must come back until my purpose has been fulfilled by the will of God. 3 days later I woke up in ICU with absolutely nothing wrong with me.Heaven in its glory, is the most peaceful, beautiful, glorified place you could ever imagine and then some. A light so bright, here on earth it would blind you, yet it did not, shinned everywhere, radiating love. I can’t wait to go home and serve my God forever more

Heaven, to the Christian, simply means being with God for eternity.
+

The Bible describes eternity as being similar to a marriage with God, like a wedding feast full of love and peace and laughter, with no pain or suffering, except it never ends. It is bliss and ecstasy that goes on forever and ever.

+

Why all the eternal bliss?

+

Because heaven to those who have put their faith in Christ is pure love. Love for Jesus, who died for us; love for God our Father, who loves us with unconditional love; and love for one another and ourselves.

+

My personal definition of what I think heaven is like is simply loving Jesus and being loved by Jesus for eternity.

Beyond human comprehension.

Hell has been described as being engulfed in burning lava, getting your soul shredded to pieces while feeling every ounce of pain, not being able to breathe due to the breath of life, and the worst sensations you can experience from your 5 senses. The real Hell is probably far worse than that.

Heaven has been described as having the sweetest smelling aroma, the richest taste you’ve ever experienced, the most soothing sensation for your nerves, the most beautiful thing you can see, and the most pleasant thing you can hear.

Whatever you associate with Heaven, the real deal is probably over 1 million times better than that.

The only difference being: that pleasure does not paralyze you, put you in a state of mind, or give you nasty side effects like meth.

There’s tons of stuff about how heaven would look like to me, but personally speaking.

My Image Heaven would be filled with Gardens with tons of plant species and peaceful gentle animals in it.

My Image of foods in Heaven would be filled with tons of colourful and vibrant looking foods that are mouthwatering.

And I would think that Heaven’s architecture is filled with magnificent and detailed buildings, ponds, gardens, carpets, etc. That just makes it really beautiful to stare at for eternity.

And that’s basically how I imagine Heaven would look like.

Heaven is real. The heavenly kingdom is spiritual invisible to us. When we die our spiritual being will see what it looks like. After Jesus Christ comes back physically He will change the earth back to look like the heavenly kingdom. Identical the spiritual kingdom will merge with its twin physically and become one. Just like our spiritual being merging with our new physical body and becomes a living soul again.

I am always partial to C.S. Lewis’s description of heaven in the The Last Battle:

“All their life in this world and all their adventures had only been the cover and the title page; now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story, which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever, and in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

I have lived a blessed life filled with wonders and adventures. I have several wonderful parents, great friends, and an amazing partner. I’ve seen the world’s wonders and eaten the finest food. I have enjoyed the simple pleasure of reading really good books and watched breathtaking movies. I cannot imagine a better life than what I already have…

And yet there is a better life—a life that is the same as our lives but more real—without the pain and suffering that is so prevalent in this world.

I honestly don’t know whether there is a Heaven. But the very promise of it gives me hope when things are dark and helps me make the right decision when I am in doubt.

Such a thing can’t be so bad, can it?
