(RNS) As RNS reports on the faith that inspires Olympic athletes this summer, we are also looking at how these athletes’ religions stack up. This table of medals according to the winners’ faith is modeled on a standard one that tabulates them by country.

Just as the games bring together athletes from all countries to compete in a spirit of camaraderie, they also bring together people of different faiths. And as RNS has reported, the Olympic Games themselves have deep spiritual and religious roots.
