While riding his electric skateboard in Forth Worth, Texas, at nearly thirty miles per hour without a helmet, Gabe Poirot crashed headfirst onto the pavement after hitting an obstacle. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, including subdural and intraparenchymal hemorrhages, which led doctors to place him in a medically induced coma. Given the severity of his condition, medical professionals anticipated a high likelihood of death or permanent neurological devastation.
While unconscious, Gabe experienced a near-death encounter, feeling his spirit leave his body and travel through a tunnel of light to Heaven. He described seeing a glorious city, meeting Jesus, and witnessing the prayers of his family, friends, and global Christian community ascending to God. Following 18 days in a coma and continued prayers at his bedside, Gabe unexpectedly woke up. He walked out of the hospital shortly thereafter with a complete neurological recovery, which his physician characterized as a medically miraculous outcome.
Gabe states, “I literally saw the prayers of the saints, the sons and daughters of God. I saw them from heaven’s perspective. They were gathered up into this bowl, this golden bowl, every single one of them. And literally they are presented to the throne room of heaven, and all of heaven stands at attention because our prayers are the Father’s priority. God delights in our prayers. He both cries with us and rejoices with us at the same time. It’s… it was so beautiful of a picture.”
