From afar TV:
A rare fireball was captured descending behind Mayon Volcano in the Philippines on May 25, 2026 at 10:33 PM local time, creating a dramatic scene over one of the world’s most iconic active volcanoes.
This footage is even more remarkable because it happened over Mayon Volcano, the most active volcano in the Philippines. Mayon is famous for its near-perfect cone shape and its long history of eruptions, lava flows, ashfall, pyroclastic density currents, and lahars. The current Mayon eruption began in January 2026, with PHIVOLCS raising the volcano to Alert Level 3 as lava, rockfalls, volcanic earthquakes, and pyroclastic flows continued. NASA notes that Mayon has erupted many times through recorded and geologic history, including deadly eruptions in 1814, 1897, and 1993. On this night, a cosmic fireball and an erupting volcano appeared in the same frame — a rare meeting of space and Earth’s deep interior.
