From Daily Mail (tabloid):

The statue, which was unveiled on Thursday – the first anniversary of Kirk’s death – was found covered in red spray paint on Sunday morning in Phoenix.
Officers with the Phoenix Police Department were called to the scene around 9am after someone reported the defaced memorial. The bronze statue also had paint on it that appeared to be concentrated on the neck of the statue – an apparent mockery of where Kirk was shot. A frowny face was also drawn on its torso. Another memorial outside the building, which features the late conservative next to a quote that reads: ‘May Charlie be received into the merciful arms of Jesus, our loving Savior,’ was also vandalized.
